Invisible For A Day

A magician has made me invisible for twenty-four hours. I would first go into the front office of every single football and baseball team and I would trade all of their great players to the Los Angeles Chargers and Dodgers. This would stack my favorite football and baseball teams with superstar players. Next I would sneak into a Chargers game and watch from the sideline. I would then get to be with all of my favorite players from the Chargers. Following the game I would swipe some of the game used balls and equipment. After that I would go to a Dodgers game and sneak into the dugout so I could watch the game with the players. After the game was over I would steal some jerseys from the locker room before leaving Dodgers stadium. When that was done I would rob a bank so I wouldn’t have to work when
I grow up. To finish off the day I would rob all of the chocolate and candy factories as well as stealing their recipes and ingredients. With this I would have a lifetime supply of all the candies and chocolates and with the money from earlier I could make a fortune of producing the candies and chocolate.

Stranded Forever

I live on an abandoned island. I’ve been here for a while, in fact I use a stick to scrape a tally mark onto a palm tree daily. Today is my eighty third day on the island. I named it Seagull Island for all of the seagulls everywhere. I even have befriended one. His name is Brandon. My diet consists of coconut milk, fish, and pineapple. Every day I wake up, scrape a tally on the tree and then I hit the coconut tree with my spear before cutting the coconuts open. Then, I go pick pineapple from the pineapple plants. I return to my shack of palm tree leaflets. I proceed to eat my breakfast of pineapples and coconut milk. I then go for my morning swim and while I’m out in the water I use my spear to catch some fish for my meal of lunch and dinner. At around midday I with swim back to the island to eat my lunch that I share with Brandon. Prior to dinner I swim some more and Brandon sometimes joins me. Dinner is a treat. I cook the fish on my spear over a fire of palm leaflets. I’ve become a master and creating a fire with two stones. After dinner I watch the sunset before going to bed. I ended up on the island because me and my family were on a cruise and we got off to explore the island. Unfortunately when we were getting back on my foot got caught under a rock and I missed the ship. When my parents realized I was missing it was too late. Even the captain was distracted and the ship crashed into a huge rock and exploded. The fireball made a ear-piercing sound as it slowly faded away. I was stuck on the island with a decent chance of never seeing another person again. I’ve came to somewhat enjoy my life on the island and who knows? Maybe someday I’ll be rescued.

The Football Game

It was opening week of the NFL season a game from the sunny Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles, California. The Chargers with their brand new head coach Jim Harbaugh were excited to get the season started at home against the Las Vegas Raiders. You could feel the long rivalry of the Raiders and Chargers in the air as Cameron Dicker kicked the ball and it traveled all the way into the end zone for a touchback. Not surprisingly, it was Aidan O’Connell leading out the Raiders offense as he had been taking the snaps ever since Antonio Pierce took the head coach job from Josh McDaniels as Jimmy Garropolo was on the sideline. Davante Adams, the Raiders star wide receiver, was motioned to the right. O’Connell faked the handoff to Josh Jacobs before hitting Adams on the quick slant for seven yards. After one fake snap O’Connell gave it to Jacobs but unfortunately he was stuffed behind the line by the All-Pro outside linebacker Khalil Mack. It was a loss of two and it gave way to third and five. It was another handoff to Jacobs who only could muster four yards before being wrapped up by the linebacker Kenneth Murray Jr. A.J. Cole III trotted out onto the field for his first punt of the game. He punted it 48 yards to the Chargers 18 yard line before the Chargers punt returner Derius Davis called for a fair catch to bring an end to the first quarter.

The young star quarterback for the Chargers Justin Herbert ran out onto the field after missing most of the prior year due to continued finger issues. He motioned the superstar Keenan Allen into the backfield and received the snap from the Pro Bowl center Corey Linsley who also had dealt with some injuries the previous season. Herbert tossed it to the Chargers running back Austin Ekeler who pushed forward for a single yard making it second and nine. The next play Herbert dealt with some pressure from Maxx Crosby before rolling out of the pocket and rifling it deep for the tight end Gerald Everett who’s first catch of the day was for thirty-one yards and a Chargers first down. Now the football was right on the midfield stripe the fifty yard line. Herbert took it himself on the quarterback draw and slid after picking up eight on the scramble but the linebacker Isiah Spillane hit him while he was on the ground the side judge tossed the flag up into the air. Adrian Hill the referee announced, “Personal foul, unnecessary roughness, defense number 41, fifteen yard penalty, first down.”

The ball was spotted at the 27 yard line and it was first and ten for the Chargers. Herbert gave it to Ekeler but he was thrown to the ground for a loss of three by Maxx Crosby. Herbert got a completion the Josh Palmer for a six yard gain and it was third and seven. Harbaugh called a handoff to the fullback, Xander Horvath but it was only a four yard gain and out came the kicker Cameron Dicker for a 38 yard field goal attempt. His kick soared through the uprights and the Chargers took a three to nothing lead just before halftime. After a good halftime pep talk by Jim Harbaugh the Chargers received the kickoff. Derius Davis sprinted past a diving Isiah Spillane and stiff-armed the weak punter A.J. Cole III before sprinting into the end zone for a 91 yard kick return touchdown. For the extra point, Dicker’s kick split the uprights and it was ten to nothing. Dicker sent his kick into the end zone and the Raiders first start of the drive began at the twenty five yard line. O’Connell threw deep for Davante Adams but he was intercepted by the Pro Bowl strong safety Derwin James Jr. whose pick ended the third quarter.

The Chargers had good field position and Herbert and the rest of the offense had hopes to capitalize and score a touchdown. On the Raider’s 47 Herbert gave it to Ekeler on the draw play who ran between offensive tackles Trey Pipkins III and Reshawn Slater for a modest three yard gain. The next play Ekeler received the ball again but the double team on Maxx Crosby proved ineffective when he powered through Jamaree Salyer and Reshawn Slater to drop Ekeler for a loss of a yard. So now it was third and eight from the Raider’s 45 yard line Herbert found Derius Davis on the screen but the play went backwards as Nate Hobbs, the Raiders cornerback, pushed him to the ground behind the line of scrimmage. It was a loss of two and it became fourth and ten. Out came J.K. Scott for his first punt of the day. He kicked it to the Raiders two. DeAndre Carter, who played for the Chargers two years prior under Brandon Staley called for a fair catch to prevent a possible safety. The Raiders were extremely backed up to begin the drive. They had to begin taking their shots deep. O’Connell began by trying a medium pass for the tight end Michael Mayer but it was knocked away by the slot cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. His next pass was an attempt at a deep ball to Davante Adams but the free safety Alofi Gilman raced over to knock it to the ground. It was now third down. Two more opportunities for the Raiders to pick up the first down. He tried a short pass to Josh Jacobs but unfortunately the running back dropped the ball. It was fourth and ten. The anger of the Raiders offense without a single score so far heated the building. Aidan O’Connell looked to pass. He saw a short pass to Jacobs open. He faked the throw to his running back before being crunched for a safety by the Pro Bowler Joey Bosa. O’Connell unbuckled the chinstrap on his helmet and stormed to the Raider sideline. No one dared to approach him as he threw his helmet at the bench. A.J. Cole III kicked it into the end zone for a touchback. Herbert took a knee and Antonio Pierce called the Raiders first timeout. Once again Herbert kneeled and the Raiders had only one timeout remaining. Herbert put his knee to the ground making it fourth down but the job was done, the Raiders were out of timeouts. J.K. Scott punted it away and the Raiders once again had the ball. O’Connell brought out the offense with only 1:03 remaining on the game clock. The first play his throw was caught by DeAndre Carter for nine yards. Then hurrying to the line Adams achieved a 31 yard reception as the Raiders now had it at the Chargers 24. O’Connell threw it to Mayers for a 24 yard touchdown pass. The offense remained on the field to go for two points and they converted as Jacobs took it in. Unfortunately for them though the game was over and the Chargers secured a 12-8 opening week victory. They headed to the locker room very pleased.
