Money

Instead of making a New Year’s resolution, I am going to focus on one word. This word is money. By the end of the year I want to have five hundred dollars in my bank account. One reason for this is I can start saving for college when I get older. I want to have enough money to afford a good college. I also want to start thinking about buying a house. I know that houses can be pretty expensive and I want at least a decent house. I also want to have spare money to buy things that I want. Some of these things include baseball and football cards. I also love going to Angels, Dodgers, and Chargers games.

New Principal

I have been told I am to be the principal of my school for the day. The first thing I would do is make detention a day in the school jail. The jail would be built next to the activity center with twenty cells. Another adjustment would be minimum days every day. Minimum days are great because school ends really early. My third change is homework is banned. If a teacher assigns homework then the next day the students are required to have a free choice day. Also I would extend lunch to one hour. I feel that after you eat you have like no time left. There would be an additional elective, baseball. This elective would be periods one and two every day. The sixth change I would make is the mile is illegal. If the teacher makes the students run the mile they spend a week in jail. My seventh adjustment would be if the teacher isn’t there when the bell rings it’s a free period. This would be really fun and it would probably happen a lot. Finally, I would make gum allowed. However, if you stuck gum somewhere you would be expelled. Being principal would be great.

Rocking in the Wild

John loved to play his imaginary guitar in the wild. He would spend hours on his own dreaming of being on his own tour. John sometimes snuck into the ranger station to watch his favorite band AC/DC performing live on their tour of America. One time a man had came to Yellowstone with his trailer with his guitar and John listened to him play every night. Today was the day he would run away from Yellowstone all the way to Los Angeles which was where AC/DC was currently performing. After nights upon nights of pizza from the trash he finally made it to California. John found where the concert was. He had finally achieved his dreams! He got to watch the concert from one of the trash cans, front row seats! It wad the best day of his whole life.

Thankful Five

I am thankful for many things this year, but here are the top five things. I am very thankful for my family and friends. They mean so much to me in life. Seeing my friends and family every day makes my day brighter. I am also thankful for sports. Sports especially baseball are my favorite hobby and playing baseball relaxes me. The third thing I am thankful for is food. I love eating different kinds of food and without food you can’t survive. I am also thankful for my dogs. I love petting my dogs and playing fetch with them. The fifth thing I am thankful for school. School teaches you academic and lifelong values and it helps prepare you for getting a job.

RAD READING – November

This month I read a book called Prodigy by Marie Lu. In this book there are two characters and the book alternates their perspectives. The Republic has control of the western part of the USA and the Colonies are fighting the Republic from the East Coast. The republic has divided their civilization into sectors. The first character, Day was previously living in a poor sector but after he escaped his execution with June he is on the run from the Republic. The other character, June is a former Republic girl. She betrayed the Republic and helped Day escape after uncovering that the Republic engineered the Plague and she also discovers that they killed he brother. June and Day are looking for the Patriots rebels possibly supported by the Colonies. After the Elector (the Republic leader) dies the Republic is in chaos. How will the book finish?

I spent a lot of free time reading this book. The amount of tough decisions that are in the book make it really epic. I definitely recommend this book. My favorite character in this book is Anden because he is reliable. On pg. 181 the text states, “‘I’m going to change the Republic, and I’m going to start by releasing Day’s brother.’” This quote is when Anden tells June that he is going to make the Republic a better place. This shows that Anden isn’t concerned about the Republic being powerful like his father, he wants the Republic to be a good place.

My favorite quote from the book is “‘But the new Elector is … Not. Your. Enemy!’” (345) This quote is meaningful to me because it shows Day, who previously disliked the Republic, knows Anden is a good leader and he is loyal to him. This quote occurs when Day speaks to the people of the Republic about their enemy.

Three Wishes

If you had been given three wishes what would you ask for? I would want the best baseball skills ever. I would want this because I would dominate and at a very young age I would likely play in MLB. This has been my dream forever and it coming true would be amazing. I would enjoy having unlimited money. With this I could donate trillions to charity. I would also buy the Los Angeles Dodgers franchise. With unlimited money I could get all the greats including Mike Trout, Aaron Judge, Mookie Betts and more on my team. Under my ownership I would also become the Dodger’s manager. My final wish is being invincible. With this I could live a long and fulfilling life. I would be immune to all sicknesses as well.

Swing and a Miss!

I would trade places with Kevin Gausman for so many reasons. Gausman is a starting pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays. The first is he is one of the best pitchers in all of baseball. I enjoy pitching but having Gausman’s ability would be a lot of fun. Gausman is a All-Star and a veteran with plenty of experience. I think the good balance of veterans and youngsters on the Blue Jays is good. Another reason why I’d do this would be playing in MLB would be enjoyable and a nice career. I have always dreamed of playing the big leagues and baseball is my passion. My final reason to be Kevin Gausman is I’d be rich. This would enable me to have many vacations homes, travel the world, and not be concerned with having not enough money to live a stable life. This life would be so much fun.

RAD READING – October

This month I read a book called Legend by Marie Lu. In this book there are two characters and the book alternates their perspectives. The Republic has control of where both characters live and the Colonies are fighting the Republic. The republic has divided their civilization into sectors. The first character, Day is living in a poor sector and his brother Eden is diagnosed with the plague. Day is a wanted criminal known for sabotage against the Republic. When Day sets out to get the medicine he stabs someone on the shoulder on his way out. The other character, June is a Republic girl. Her brother Metias is thought to be killed by Day and she begins a hunt to capture the criminal. How will the book finish?

I spent a lot of free time reading this book. The book is very intense and epic and I really enjoyed it. I definitely recommend this book. My favorite character in this book is Day because he is brave. On pg. 297 the text states, “‘Why did he do it?’ I shout. ‘It should have been me!’” This quote is when Day discovers that John has sacrificed himself to make the Republic think that Day is dead. This shows that Day is brave because he is willing to sacrifice himself too save John.

My favorite quote from the book is “‘Each day means a new twenty-four hours. Each day means everything’s possible again.’” (304) This quote is meaningful to me because even though Day is a Republic criminal he still has a good way of seeing things. This quote occurs when June asks Day about his name.

The Best Day Ever

It would be a dream to have a perfect day and it would go like this. First I would sleep and stay in bed until I wanted to get up. After I was up, I would prepare to go to a baseball game. I would leadoff and pitch on the mound to start the game. During the game, I would pitch a perfect game and I would be nine for nine with nine grand slam 900 foot home runs. After our team won sixty-three to nothing, I’d go home and play video games with my friends. Then the Dodgers would offer me a twenty year contract for 38 billion dollars a year. Me and my family would win twenty lotteries and move into a mansion we’d also buy seventeen vacation mansions. Next, I would eat 735 chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. After that my friends would come over. My deluxe bus would also arrive at my house. The bus would have a gaming room and a cafeteria with robot gourmet chefs. I’d be driven by my robots to game seven of the World Series at Dodgers Stadium. I would get to sit in the dugout for the whole game and I’d get 100 signed baseballs from every player. The Dodgers would beat the Astros in game 7 thirty-seven to nothing. I’d get to run out on the field and celebrate with the team. Then me, the Dodgers, and my friends would go to In-and-Out for lunch. We’d get fresh, good quality fries. Then me and my friends would game until dinner. Then we would go to a gourmet steakhouse for dinner. To end out the day we would have a sleepover at my house. This would be such a fun day.

Twenty-One For Eternity

I would want to be twenty-one years old forever. If this was true I would have all the privileges of being an adult but I’d still be young. Also I’d be out of school and college. If I was twenty-one I could also drive, get married, and more. You’d still be young and you’d be eligible to get a job and in my case play baseball. I would still be considered a young baseball player forever so I wouldn’t become rusty and loose greatness like other players. A disadvantage of being a little kid would be you’d be tiny so you’d never really be able to work at a job. These are just some of the many reasons why if I was one age forever I’d be twenty-one.
